Auntie Maebelle's Oven Kalua Lamb

Total Time: 4 hrs 5 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 4 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 5 -8 lbs lamb butt
  • 6 tablespoons of hawaiian salt (judge the amount of salt for yourself!!) or 6 tablespoons kosher salt (judge the amount of salt for yourself!!)
  • 10 tablespoons liquid smoke
  • 6 ti leaves or 6 banana leaves
  • aluminum foil

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 500deg.
  • 2 slit lamb in several places, rub salt and liquid smoke into lamb.
  • 3 wrap lamb with ti leaves, then in the foil, place on a small rack in a baking pan,.
  • 4 lower heat to 400deg.,
  • 5 bake for 4hrs.
  • 6 shred lamb and add juices from the pan to the lamb, according to your taste. enjoy!
