Mini Sausage Rubens

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 44
  • 1/2 lb smoked sausage
  • 1 loaf miniature party rye rounds
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup thousand island dressing
  • 16 ounces sauerkraut
  • 10 slices swiss cheese

Recipe

  • 1 slice sausage into 1/4 inch pieces.
  • 2 drain the sauerkraut.
  • 3 cut cheese slices into 1/2-inch x 2-1/2-inch strips.
  • 4 melt butter in small skillet.
  • 5 brush rye bread with butter on both sides.
  • 6 place on baking sheet.
  • 7 toast at 400f for 5 minutes. turn.
  • 8 remove from oven and build rubens ending with cris- crossed cheese slices on top.
  • 9 bake for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly.
