Norwegian Church Meatballs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 28
  • 2 lbs hamburger
  • 1/2 lb ground lamb
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pinch ginger
  • 1 pinch ground mustard
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons dried onion

Recipe

  • 1 pour the milk over the bread in a bowl.
  • 2 mix together hamburger and lamb.
  • 3 add the eggs, salt, pepper, ginger, mustard, nutmeg, dried onion, then the bread and milk mixture. mix all together well and form into balls about the size of a golf ball.
  • 4 place the meatballs into a 9x13 pan and bake at 350 degrees until browned and cooked through, thirty to 45 minutes.
  • 5 the drippings can be used to make gravy that can be served separately or poured over the meatballs.
