Hot Sausage Soup (aka Cindy"s Soup)

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 lbs bulk hot sausage
- 2 1/4 cups chopped green peppers (about 3 medium)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 6 cups water
- 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans italian-style stewed tomatoes
- 1 (14 ounce) can chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 2 1/2 cups mini bow tie pasta
Recipe
- 1 cook hot sausage, pepper, onion and garlic in 6 quart dutch oven until meat is cooked through and vegetables are tender.
- 2 drain off fat. pat with paper towell to remove most of grease.
- 3 add water, undrained tomatoes, chicken broth, sugar, spices and worcestershire sauce.
- 4 bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 45 minutes.
- 5 stir in pasta.
- 6 cook uncovered 10 to 15 minutes until pasta is tender.
- 7 serve in bowls and enjoy.
