Mostaccioli Sauce

Total Time: 1 hr 45 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped bacon (about 3 slices)
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground lamb
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cooking sherry
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 (28 ounce) can italian-style tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil, brown bacon until tender. add ground beef, ground lamb & onion and cook until meat is done. add all remaining ingredients except the tomato paste and simmer under low heat for 1 hour. add tomato paste and continue simmering for another 15 minutes.
  • 2 serve over mostaccioli noodles.
