Never-the-same-twice Meatloaf

Ingredients
- 1/2 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground lamb or 1/2 lb ground veal
- 1 onion, chopped
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 jar homemade or prepared chutney
- 2 slices hearty bread
- 1/2 cup homemade or prepared barbecue sauce
Recipe
- 1 soak slices of bread in chutney until soft and combine with remaining ingredients.
- 2 mix well, and place in a meatloaf pan.
- 3 bake at 350°f for 45 minutes.
- 4 remove from oven and, with the back of a teaspoon, make a shallow ôtrenchö, lengthwise, on top of the meatloaf, and fill the 'trench' with barbecue sauce.
- 5 return to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
