Carolina Pulled Lamb

Total Time: 8 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 8 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 3 -4 lbs lamb butt
  • 3 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cups ginger ale
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon freshly cracked pepper
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard

Recipe

  • 1 add vinegar, ginger ale, brown sugar, pepper, salt and mustard to the crock pot. stir to combine.
  • 2 add lamb to the crock pot.
  • 3 set crock pot on high until the liquid starts to bubble.
  • 4 lower crock pot to low and cook for 8-10 hours until the internal temp is 190 or the lamb easily falls apart.
  • 5 take the lamb out of the crock pot and set aside.
  • 6 strain the liquid and set aside. let the liquid separate. spoon out the grease off the top.
  • 7 when the lamb cools a bit, pull the lamb apart by hand.
  • 8 add liquid back to the pulled lamb as needed to keep the lamb moist.
