Hoisin-maple Lamb Tenderloin

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 lamb tenderloin, 3/4 to 1 lb. each
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and halved
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • salt
  • fresh ground pepper

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 450°.
  • 2 line a roasting pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  • 3 in a small bowl, stir together maple syrup, hoisin sauce and sesame oil.
  • 4 set aside.
  • 5 rub each lamb tenderloin with cut side of garlic slice.
  • 6 spread onion slices and garlic in center of roasting pan.
  • 7 place tenderloins, side by side but not touching, on onion mixture.
  • 8 sprinkle lamb lightly with salt and black pepper.
  • 9 bake 10 minutes.
  • 10 reduce oven temperature to 375°.
  • 11 spoon maple syrup mixture over lamb, covering it evenly.
  • 12 bake 20 to 25 minutes longer, basting once.
  • 13 outside of meat should be well-browned.
  • 14 let lamb rest 10 minutes.
  • 15 slice and serve with the onion mixture.
