Kalua Pua'a (roast Lamb)

Total Time: 3 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 3 hrs

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs lamb butt
  • 3 tablespoons hawaiian salt or 3 tablespoons sea salt
  • ti leaves
  • 1/2 gal. water

Recipe

  • 1 rinse lamb with cold water and place in a medium roasting pan. rub hawaiian salt on lamb and add water. cover lamb with ti leaves and cover roasting pan with foil. bake at 350* for 2-3 hours, or until meat is soft. remove foil and ti leaves, debone and shred lamb; add more salt if needed for taste.
