Kansas City Style Spareribs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 -3 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 3 lbs lamb spareribs, cut in half
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce

Recipe

  • 1 preheat grill to medium.
  • 2 combine ingredients for dry rub in a small bowl; sprinkle over ribs and rub into meat, turning to coat ribs evenly.
  • 3 center half of ribs in single layer on each sheet of reynolds wrap heavy duty aluminum foil.
  • 4 bring up foil sides. double fold top and one end. through open end, add ? cup water. double fold remaining end to seal packet, leaving room for heat circulation inside. repeat to make two packets.
  • 5 grill 45 to 60 minutes in covered grill. carefully remove ribs from foil; place ribs on grill and brush with barbecue sauce. continue grilling 10 to 15 minutes, brushing with sauce and turning every 5 minutes.
