Maple Lamb Chops

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 55 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 6 thick cut lamb chops
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup real maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup whole grain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch chili powder
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375.
  • 2 add half of the olive oil to a large oven safe pan. quickly sear the lamb chops till they are just browned on each side and remove them and set aside in a baking pan. 9x13 works well.
  • 3 add remaining oil and saute onion and garlic until onions are transparent being careful not to burn the garlic. add remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer. let simmer for 5 - 6 minutes. pour sauce over lamb chops in the baking pan and cover. cook for 35 - 45 minutes basting occasionally. uncover and cook 10 more minutes.
  • 4 use a corn starch slurry to thicken sauce if desired.
